Our legacy

ENI CBC Med is the second generation of cross-border cooperation in the Mediterranean, building upon the positive experience of its predecessor, the ENPI (European Neighbourhood and Partnership Instrument) CBC Med Programme.

During the 2007-2013 period, the Programme funded 95 projects involving over 730 organizations coming from both shores of the Mediterranean Sea. These projects showed how cooperation is an engine for development and a way to contribute to improving the lives of people across the Mediterranean.

The funded projects, amounting to a total value of €204 million, were implemented in the following thematic areas:

  • Economic growth and territorial development
  • Cultural heritage and sustainable tourism
  • Human capital
  • Environmental sustainability
