SIRCLES and MoreThanAJob have identified common ground as both projects tackle the employment of NEETs and vulnerable groups. In this context, they organized an online meeting on strengthening synergies between them. The meeting was held on March 21, 2022, and it brought together 3 practitioners, experts, policymakers, and representatives from both projects. It included the participation of the project manager of the Rene Moawad Foundation implementing the SIRCLES project in Lebanon and MoreThanAJob Lebanese partner (BCTS).

The focus of the meeting was to promote coordinated implementation of the two projects and launch a consultation towards initiatives on synergies and complementarities to achieve the projects’ common goal: to help the uneducated, unemployed and refugees in the Lebanese community through creating job opportunities for them.

The participants identified examples that specifically illustrate the potential of synergistic and interlinked approaches to realizing the objectives of the two projects, for example the possibility the portal and the already selected best practices and the policy briefs developed by MoreThanAJob project, also the two projects will participate in a common workshops and events, since SIRCLES Project in Lebanon still in the first year of implementation. They also analyzed gaps and challenges and made recommendations for strengthening synergy.

MoreThanAJob Project aims to reinforce social inclusion of vulnerable, unemployed populations by applying best practices for more effective collaboration of the Social and Solidarity Economy actors with the public administration.

SIRCLES project wants to explore new employment opportunities by applying the circular economy model applied to the bio-waste sector. The project mainly focuses on developing new capacities oriented to business development and separation, collection, composting and agriculture processes. The training will be tested through 7 pilot projects that address the hotel, food retail and household sectors, adjusted to the diverse local contexts of each territory involved in the project. Consequently, SIRCLES will contribute to the creation of green jobs by involving the most vulnerable sectors of the population and supporting environmental sustainability.
