Enhancing wastewater reuse: the contribution of the MENAWARA project to Jordanian farmers

The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan is an arid to semi-arid country. Water resources depend on variable rainfall and therefore are characterized by scarcity, variability, and uncertainty: Jordan is therefore ranked fourth poorest country with regard to water resources worldwide.

The largest water consume is prior taken from Agriculture, taking about 70 % of the national water budget. The use of treated waste water for irrigation is a national objective to double the utilization of treated waste water to 15 Million m³ by 2035.
