InnovAgroWoMed gets inspiration: when prison doors do not stop us rewriting our story!

"Rewrite your story" is a strong motto because it states one of our fundamental rights: Society must allow everybody to rewrite their own story.

Cotti in Fragranza is a laboratory for the preparation of high quality baked goods, born in 2016 inside the Malaspina juvenile prison in Palermo. All its products tell a story, and that’s very empowering! When people taste and feel how good they are, they also change their minds. They tell themselves, “Look at what these guys who have been in prison have made! Look how good these products are!”.

Lucia Lauro, manager of Cotti in Fragranza, opened the doors for the InnovAgroWoMed AgriFooders and allowed them to discover a story made of commitment, passion for food, and products made in Sicily. An experience inspired by the need to flip the script and do something good for the community.

With the help of Legacoop Sicilia, the InnovAgroWoMed team and the beneficiaries in Italy took the opportunity to make many discoveries through this journey which aimed to discover the successes of the Sicilian territory and traditions.

Environmental sustainability, women's empowerment and enhancement of the agri-food sector can be the real drivers of development in the Euro-Mediterranean area.

InnovAgroWoMed takes up this challenge and carries out actions aimed at strengthening women’s employment and the ability to do business in the agri-food sector in Italy, with the support of CESIE, partner of the project in Italy.

Follow AgriFooder on our project facebook page and youtube channel, every Friday, stories of women working in the entrepreneurial field are available, gathered from training courses for aspiring businesswomen and told by professionals in the agri-food sector.

InnovAgroWoMed is a project co-financed by the European Union through the ENI CBC MED programme
