- Description and objectives

The main objective of the call is to propose and develop innovations, or improved solutions on various aspects the project is developing for use in the e-monitor and control against two key-pests, the olive and med fruit flies. It will take a form of two demand driven, cross-border Living Labs, one for the two e-traps and the other for the two sets e-services, which will be established for R&D and technology transfer among research, industry, and specialized SMEs. Based on the FruitFlyNet-ii grand-scheme, the stakeholder(s) able to produce the most appropriate solution for each aspect of the e-trap or the e-services will be selected and receive a sub-grant. Monitoring of the sub-grant activities and delivery of the committed outputs and reporting will follow. Consortium agreements for intellectual property right (IPR) sharing with third contributing entities are required.

It is foreseen to assign 6 sub-grants of 19.500,00 EURO each, subject to a re-definition as the case may be, being three sub-grants per each type of living lab (e-traps or e-services). Grants will be awarded in the following countries:
- 2 in Tunisia
- 2 in Lebanon
- 2 in Greece - Actions to be carried out with the sub-grants

Financial support to third parties in order to develop a specific innovation or improvement of the products.
- Selection criteria and award procedure

Sub-grants will be managed by Agricultural University of Athens (Greece), the Lebanese Agricultural Research Institute (Lebanon) and the Tunisian Olive Institute (Tunisia). They will closely supervise the whole process. After a decision of the Project Board an announcement will be communicated to attract SMEs and other stakeholders to:
a) explain them the concept and the procedures.
b) clarify the aims and the technical needs for each living lab and
c) estimate the actual budget.
A procurement per living lab will be announced; however, procurement may be divided into 2-4 sub-procurements, if needed. The selection and evaluation procedures, monitoring and reporting will follow the regulations of the corresponding partner organization and the official guidance for management of the sub-grants. They will cover all the costs (equipment, consumables, labor travel cost, etc.), according to the agreed implementation plan.
Selection criteria:
• Proven high-level specialized expertise in relevant contributions. Complementarities in expertise to address the target-output.
• Technological achievements, benefits from field-testing opportunities and feedback from the users.
• Previous participation in research projects or innovations/patents/commercialization.
• Foster fair territorial development.
• Motivate new markets and jobs, promoting equitable and sustainable local economies, and economic development in Med-basin.
• Expression of interest by farmers, authorities and stakeholders due to the new innovations ready to be used in practice.
• The implementation timetable and the milestones.
