The Lead partner of the ENI CBC MED funded project ENSERES has engaged in a partnership with the Interreg Volunteer Youth (IVY) programme to provide volunteering opportunities to young people interested in protecting and conserving Mediterranean coastal areas. Amine Achi, a young graduate in public administration by the American University of Beirut in Lebanon, told us about his experience as volunteer at the European Topic Centre on Spatial Analysis and Synthesis (ETC-UMA) in Spain:

"During my stay at the centre, I had the privilege of working with people of different backgrounds and nationalities; every person had a different story to share, and I obtained a very fruitful experience. Every day brought a new challenge; my tasks were varied, and I learned to deal with situations I had never encountered before. I helped with social media communication and document translation, as well as daily administrative tasks.
 
At the end of my internship, I can say that I'm ready to take on new challenges in my professional life, with all the skills I have acquired at the European Topic Centre. I also encourage other recent graduates to apply for IVY volunteering programs and internships; I believe it is a great opportunity for personal and professional development."

Among Amine's contributions to the project was the translation of the ENSERES video to help us promote our common objectives and the importance of cooperation among Arabic speaking constituencies. You can now watch it in Arabic here, in French here and in English here.
