On November 21st, the ARTOLIO project, a pioneering initiative in olive oil production and milling, held a significant Info Day at the iconic Hotel L'Empereur in Aleria, Corsica. This event, specifically aimed at olive oil producers and millers on the island, marked a milestone in strengthening and developing the sector in the region.

The day was highlighted by the presence of the project's main beneficiaries, who were warmly welcomed. Katerina Roumelioti, the financial coordinator of ARTOLIO, played a crucial role in presenting the project's evolution, key outcomes, and future challenges, addressing relevant issues such as the geopolitical crisis and conflicts in the Middle East and their impact on the association.

This meeting served not only as a platform for discussion and reflection on opportunities and future initiatives but also highlighted the dynamism and promise of the ecosystem created by ARTOLIO, thanks to:

  • The tireless collaboration and dedication of the partners and members of ARTOLIO.
  • The high quality of the project's outcomes, including the innovative ARTOLIO platform for promoting exceptionally high-quality olive oil.
  • The deep respect for olive cultivation and the high values represented by the ARTOLIO family.

The event also featured the distinguished presence of Valeria Cibrario, Principal Expert in Business Development and SMEs of the Joint Technical Secretariat of the ENI CBC MED program. Furthermore, the program in Corsica was enriched with various visits to the beneficiaries' olive groves and to the Domaine Oltremonti mill, offering an immersive and educational experience.

Beneficiaries contributed samples of their new olive harvests for chemical analysis by Dr. Kiki Zinoviadou, a member of ARTOLIO and Associate Dean of Perrotis College. This analysis is part of a broader study on olive oil and the project's experiments.
