Beyond is the first international stage for Industry in Southeastern Europe, the Mediterranean and the MENA (the Middle East/North Africa) region. The exhibition is designed to address today’s needs and become the melting pot of the world’s brightest minds, talents, and products. From top speakers and exhibitions to open innovation, live experiences and product launches. For the first time in Greece, the Beyond exhibition offered a dedicated stage for all those who thrive in the business of consumer technologies, and a hybrid “exhibition meets summit” platform. It aims to transform Thessaloniki in Greece into a technology and innovation hub for the broader region and contribute constructively to Greece’s digital transformation. The event lasted for 3 days from 29^th September to 1^st October 2022 in a 20,000 m2 space, and more than 30 countries participated. 

In this event, our colleague Achilleas Kalogiannis (PhD working on the CEOMED project) participated in the exhibition on behalf of the Democritus University of Thrace. Achilleas presented the advance of the CEOMED project regarding anaerobic digestion tests.

Many participants visited the stand of Democritus University and asked interesting technical questions about the project. All of them expressed a positive impression of the project and the programme.

Furthermore, our colleague Achilleas developed a strong engagement activity, and reach potential collaborations with journalists and with the University of Crete (working in the valorisation of organic waste too). Good job Democritus University of Thrace!
