Leonardo Galletti, Interreg Volunteer Youth (IVY) of the MYSEA project

Leonardo Galletti is a young Italian graduate in Global Politics and International Relations at the University of Macerata. Being passionate for European territorial cooperation and social development, he has always been eager to share his knowledge to improve social inclusion of disadvantaged people. Furthermore, one of his greatest interests lay within the European project management, a sector which he is exploring with the aim to gain an in-depth expertise for his professional career.

Two weeks ago, his aspirations met with the possibility to volunteer at the implementation of the EU-funded project “MYSEA - Mediterranean Youth, NEETs and women advancing Skills, Employment and Awareness in the blue and green economy” of the ENI CBC MED Programme, under the supervision of CIES technical management unit.

As an Interreg Volunteer Youth (IVY), he is being receiving training on the project documents and procedures and is helping on the implementation of project activities and materials, writing reports and articles, participating at internal and external meetings and events, and helping on the technical management of the project. Since the very first days he showed commitment for the project and integrated with both CIES team members and the project partners from Italy, Greece, Tunisia, Lebanon and Jordan.

He is proud of having the chance to give a contribution for the creation of employment opportunities for youth, NEETs and women of the Mediterranean area in the agri-food and waste management sectors; recognizing the potential these sectors are for a sustainable and green development of the Mediterranean and for the creation of new economic opportunities, he acknowledges the importance of spreading innovative ideas and good practices of cooperation to the wider public so that less and less people neglect how an effective cooperation brings development and growth.

Leonardo is very glad to be part of this challenging project that will allow him to grow professionally and to share with the community his knowledge about social inclusion development, and thanks AEBR office and the EU for the opportunity he is being given.
Welcome onboard!
