COMMON was presented at MENAWARA kick-off meeting

Synergies between COMMON and other ambitious and relevant projects continue. The COMMON project was presented at the MENAWARA project kick-off meeting, held in Gammarth (Tunis) on November 28, 2019.

MENAWARA is a project focused on improving water policies, which aims to provide additional resources by recycling drainage and wastewater (WW), exploiting water losses, rationalizing water use practices and defining operational governance models in line with national and international plans. One of the main objectives of the COMMON project is the creation of a collaboration network at Mediterranean level to address the issue of marine litter but also, on a higher level, to further strengthen the connection between all the Mediterranean countries, in order to face common challenges all together.

COMMON was introduced by Sana Ben Ismail, marine scientist at the National Institute of Marine Sciences and Technologies of Tunis and partner of the COMMON project.

A very significant meeting, which saw the presence of the Tunisian Ministry of Local Affairs and the Environment and the National Ministry of Agriculture, Water Resources and Fisheries. Furthermore, the participants represented Research Institutes, National Offices, universities, Non-Governmental Organizations and ENI CBC MED, funding programme for both projects.
