A conversation with Alessio Satta, climate senior researcher, WWF Mediterranean executive director, and MEDSEA Foundation member, partner in ENSERES.

Alessio has 25 years of experience in Conservation, Climate Change, and Sustainable Development policies and governance, with more than 15 years in International Development Assistance to the MED countries in coastal and marine resources conservation and integrated management. He is an Environmental Engineer specializing in groundwater management at the Imperial College of London and has a Post-Graduate Environmental Engineering Management degree at Ecole des Mines de Paris. He holds a PhD in Climate Change Science and Management from the Ca’ Foscari University of Venice and is an active researcher on climate change risk and vulnerability assessment. From 2019 to 2023, Alessio coordinated the Ramsar Initiative for the Mediterranean, MedWet, which brings together 27 Mediterranean and peri-Mediterranean countries that are Parties to the Ramsar Convention on Wetlands
