In the framework of ESMES school contest initiative, organized among 34 public schools in all the countries involved in ESMES project, the monitoring of school's energy consumption in real-life conditions through smart meters and weather stations data collection, has been essential.

Data are collected and shared through an online platform http://esmes.ngrok.io/, designed and managed by the German Jordanian University (GJU), Jordanian partner of ESMES, which is linked to schools’ smart meters that track and publish energy consumption trends of the involved schools.

On the 17th of March 2022, GJU, in collaboration with JANTIZA, the German company specialized in smart energy meters and software solutions, organized a one-day training regarding the technical use of the platform, directed to 16 people from partners and stakeholders involved in the project activity.

The platform enables cross border cooperation and dialogue, information exchange among ESMES partners, associate partners and external stakeholders, storing and sharing knowledge on energy consumption.

The platform is also a very powerful tool that allows users to share, shape and analyze energy consumption data according to the users' needs. Moreover, it serves as a communication tool where partners and stakeholders can exchange information on achieved outcomes, present challenges faced in schools, learn from experiences shared by other schools, and take inspiration to overcome similar difficulties or improve their energy management practices and behaviors.

The amount of available data will be surely used to fuel research on future activities to be implemented in public schools on renewable energy and energy efficiency measures.
