On the 28th and 29th November 2023, the INVESTMED Project will hold its final regional event in Tunisia, co-organized by lead partner BUSINESSMED (Union of Mediterranean Confederations of Enterprises), the European Institute for the Mediterranean (IEMed), and the Euro-Mediterranean Economists Association (EMEA).

This event marks the end of the implementation of the workplans from 37 Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises and 3 Business Support Organisations’ under the INVESTMED project. Over the past year, these innovative start-ups have been working to strengthen the green, blue, and cultural and creative ecosystems in the Southern Mediterranean. Their endeavours range from launching a new green and sustainable product, to exporting their regional cultural heritage, to reaching international markets.

These projects were selected over 1 year ago to be part of the INVESTMED subgranting scheme and community, and have launched new products into the market, expanded their exports, and launched their businesses. In this final event, we will hear from the 37 businesses about their INVESTMED journey and the impact they have had using the INVESTMED subgrant.

Across the two days, investors from Egypt, Lebanon, Tunisia, and Europe will be invited to listen to the subgrantees pitch their businesses after a year of INVESTMED financial support and training, to look beyond the project funds for their sustainability. Networking and further definition of cross-border collaboration between projects and BSOs is also a key priority and entrepreneurs will benefit from a B2B networking platform to plan their meetings. If you want to connect with any of the INVESTMED entrepreneurs to collaborate on their innovative and sustainable projects, sign up here: https://www.bcdesk.eu/index.php/en/evenement/investmed-networking-event

Finally, the INVESTMED participants will visit 3 key sites for entrepreneurship in Tunisia: Minassa,   an incubator for the cultural and creative scene situated in the Tunis old town to experience the unique historic architecture, and 2 sites in the town of Bizerte that will be selected by Tunisia’s Smart Cities Association.
