The first INTECMED awards fund the activities of three Spanish innovative projects

The first edition of the INTECMED awards was held on Friday 3rd of March in Seville, referring to the main goal of the project, which is to promote techonology transfer and cooperation between research centres and companies in order to foster business innovation.

Two of the Spanish partners of the INTECMED project, the Chamber of Commerce of Seville and the Technological Corporation of Andalusia (CTA), were in charge of awarding three Andalusian start-ups with a total funding of 60.0000 euros to develop their innovative business ideas.

The original call was launched in December 2019. Nine business plans were submitted, all of which were part of INTECMED's mentoring programme to optimise business models and contribute to market entry. The proposals were assessed by four evaluators based on a criteria of feasibility, innovation, impact and internationalisation capacity, as well as the degree of participation in INTECMED's mentoring programme and the level of achievement of their initial goals.

The three wining projects are:

  • Cultural Fit Solutions, a company from Seville, was awarded the first prize, with 30.000 euros in funding for a business intelligence platform that uses software to measure and predict commitment between people and organisations by examining shared values.
  • The Malaga-based project Voicit won the second prize of 20.000 euros for its work in automatic summaries of online meetings and interviews with data analysis and interpretation functions.
  • The third and last prize went to the company Daromas from Granada, with a sum of 10.0000 euros for the cultivation and processing of aromatic plants. 

The financial support will be used to fund activities that contribute to entrepreneurship development.
