FruitFlyNet-ii in Tunisia is looking and IT student for an internship

Purpose of the announcement

Within the framework of the Project FruitFlyNet-ii: "Commercialization of an Automated Monitoring and Control System against the Olive and Med Fruit Flies of the Mediterranean Region" financed by the ENI CBC MED programme and managed by the Agence Nationale de Promotion de la Recherche Scientifique (ANPR), the Regional Research Centre on Horticulture and Organic Agriculture (CRRHAB) recruits a student engineer to carry out a summer internship in the fields of computer engineering (IoT, Cloud, AI, Web development).

Tasks required

Assist the project's IT engineer with the following tasks:

  • Develop, assemble, install, test and operate networks of electronic traps for capturing insects.
  • Develop a Dashboard (graphical interface) to visualize the data inherent in the sensor networks installed in the fields.
  • Providing technical assistance for carrying out functional tests on the prototype in the field (MedFlyNet), aimed at ensuring that the system works properly in terms of acquiring and sending images remotely and ensuring power continuity.
  • Analyzing and defining the connection network for the system integrated into the Cloud (AWS, Google Cloud or Microsoft Azure).

Qualifications

  • Student Engineer with two completed years engineering studies  in one of the following specializations : computer engineering, telecommunications or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of Cloud Computing, preferably AWS and/or Google Cloud, Microsoft Azur.
  • Knowledge of algorithms and programming (Python language, web development).
  • Knowledge of the Linux operating system.

Prerequisites

  1. Be of Tunisian nationality.
  2. Enjoy civil and political rights.
  3. Have the physical and mental health to carry out the activity.

  • Copies of supporting documents (diplomas, training certificates, work experience certificates, etc.).
  • Any other document justifying the experience acquired by the candidate.

General conditions 

  1. Contractor: CRRHAB Chott-Mariem
  2. Duration of internship: 6 to 8 weeks

Salary and conditions: Six hundred dinars (600) Tunisian Dinars. Social charges and insurance to be paid by the candidate.

Starting date: From the signature of the contract.

Job duration: 6 to 8 weeks
