FruitFlyNet-ii at the XII European Congress of Entomology

From 16 to 20 October 2023, the 12th European Congress of Entomology was held at the Cultural Conference Centre in Heraklion, Greece. The major international event, organised by the Hellenic Entomological Society, was attended by over 900 scientists from all over the world.

In the session Integrated Pest Management (IPM) - Novel Technological tools in IPM, Prof. Andrea Sciarretta, from the University of Molise, Italy, gave an invited oral presentation entitled:

The application of Smart Technologies in agriculture for insect pest monitoring and control.

Authors of the contribution were Professor Andrea Sciarretta, and Professors Dionysios Perdikis and Theodore Tsiligiridis from the Agricultural Univesrsity of Athens.

Andrea presented the scientific results of the Fruitflynet-ii project and illustrated the recent achievements in e-trapping and e-services for the control of the fruit flies Ceratitis capitata and Bactrocera oleae in peach orchards and olive groves, respectively. The abstract of the paper will be published in the Congress Proceedings.
