After the first round of applications, our Egyptian partner Alexandria Business Association (ABA) has extended the deadline of their call for entrepreneurs to allow more young entrepreneurs to submit their ideas and projects and join the GIMED community. The call for entrepreneurs with a green and sustainable idea is currently open in Alexandria, Mansoura, Beheira, Damietta, Kafr el Sheikh and other Mediterranean locations in the country.

"Any company or start-up in any field can go green. In fact, it should, because going green means increasing efficiency," says Sherif El Diwany, the Egyptian partner's Project Manager. In this sense, there is a new set of business opportunities to access funding and sign contracts with large companies to launch start-ups and turn green ideas into reality.

In this round, green entrepreneurs have two options for applications:

GIMED is an EU funded project under the ENI CBC MED programme that aims to assist entrepreneurs with innovative green ideas, products or services to raise finance and make them competitive in the market. The 4 most innovative ideas and startups that will follow the training and coaching course will be highlighted as green innovation pioneers and will each receive a grant of 7500 euros.

You can take part of this for the second round on GimedEgypt application platform. The deadline for this call has been extended until 15th of June 2021.
