INTERNISA in Jordan organised a 2-day workshop for Vocational and Educational Training organisations to boost IT skills for women

Al Balqa Applied University (ABAU), the Jordanian partner of INTERNISA, has organized and implemented a 2-day workshop entitled “Expanding the Participation of VET Organizations in the INTERNISA project”. This event was held at Telal Jalaad restaurant and park in Al Balqa Governorate, on the 30th and 31st of August 2023.

In the workshop, Dr Omar Arabiat the project manager at ABAU presented the project, its objectives, activities, services, target groups and up-to-date achievements as its web portal (https://www.internisa.eu/) and a mobile application for women (My INTERNISA), the offline spot and the Memorandum of Cooperation (MoC). This two-day workshop was addressed to the representatives of Vocational, Education, and Training (VET) Organizations, in which representatives of the major Jordanian vocational institutions had small briefs about the actual situation of vocational training in Jordan, and those targeting women. It is worth mentioning that representative of the vocational training corporation, the National Employment and Training Institution, the Ministry of Labour, and the Ministry of Education were present at the workshop and shared their experience in the field.  

Following the presentations regarding the INTERNISA project and actual vocational training situation, the representatives of VET Organizations had an open discussion over the two days about the role of politicians and decision-makers in improving and strengthening the VET system, the best practices, and challenges in addressing gender gaps in the workplace and education and the importance of networking and collaboration in filling and removing gender gaps. Also, the participating VET organizations reviewed the MoC of INTERNISA which aims to strengthen the project’s results and sustainability, and they expressed their interest in signing the MoC in the near future.
