Italian Local TV Reportage Explores TECHLOG Living Labs opportunities to improve safe and eco driving and reduce stress and fatigue while enhancing drivers performances and productivity

TELESARDEGNA, Italian Local TV, within its Tv Show “Panorama Sardo” (episode 38, min. 1:01:18) presents an extensive interview highlighting the TECHLOG Project's activities and its offer through its Living Labs.

The project offers training with advanced driving simulators to optimize and standardize the transport sector in the Mediterranean Area.

At the moment the project, which will end in December 2023, foresees the launch of 4 pilot actions which will certainly serve as a basis for opening up new horizons of interaction, improvement and development. The 4 pilot actions will allow the operators involved to experiment and refine the proposed technology transfer initiatives in real-life scenarios in order to evaluate potential impacts before their implementation. The pilot actions will be guided by simulation technicians and expert drivers, supported in their work by facilitators and trainers made available by the Living Labs. These pilot actions will take place in Cagliari, Sfax, Beirut and Alessandria and will also involve port operators. The use cases covered by these advanced tests will concern:

  • Management and measurement of stress and fatigue while driving
  • Eco-driving
  • Safety and reduction of the probability of causing accidents - Evaluation of the driver's performance

The interview features these TECHLOG staff members:

  1. Prof. Gianfranco Fancello, Scientific Coordinator at UNICA, CIREM, Italy

  1. Prof. Patrizia Serra, Technical Coordinator at UNICA, CIREM, Italy

  1. Dr. Nicola Pirina, Living Lab Coordinator and Innovation Strategist at UNICA, Italy
