Yesterday, 28 November 2022 was held at the Cantieri Culturali alla Zisa (NOZ) in Palermo the Conference of the first year of the CARISMED project. The conference was an opportunity to discuss about circular economy, according to the Low Cost Adaptive Reuse practices (LCARS).

Since Carismed is a project of capitalization, in the morning, we disused about previous experiences. In particular, MAIA-TAQA, INNOMED-UP and SME4SMARTCITIES projects were presented to share knowledge about methodologies, tools and developed experiences. Subsequently, the activities of the Carismed project were discussed, in order to present the specific methodology developed to promote the circular economy within the eco-Renovation of buildings.

In the afternoon session, the topic of circular economy was addressed from the theoretical point of view, thanks to the speech’s of Prof. Distefano from the University of Florence and Prof.ssa Germane from the University of Palermo. The theoretical approach was followed by several SME representatives from all the countries involved in the project. They presented their business, their approach to the circular economy and some best practice. Several moments of conviviality and free discussion among those present have initiated a rich exchange of views. Excellent public participation both in presence and at a distance, and excellent feedback from the companies involved, which encourage the continuation of the project.
