Med Pearls Awareness Raising Event + 1st Consensus Building Workshop - Pilot Area: Alcantara Valley

During this event, the Med Pearls strategy will be explained in detail to the different local stakeholders based in the Alcantara Valley, East Sicily.

Particular attention will be given to explain how local actors can get involved and benefit from the different project actions and funding opportunities.

The second part of the session will take the form of a Consensus Building Workshop where the participants will have their say in the co-design of the approach to take for the slow-tourism initiatives to be developed in the area.

This is an open session addressed to public entities in the Alcantara Valley, Sicily (Italy). A second event will follow on another date, expressly addressed to private entities from the touristic sector as well as to ICT entrepreneurs and start-ups, based or developing their activity in the Alcantara/Etna area.

A non-exhaustive list of the target entities for this event on 20 February is:

• Regional and local authorities of the Alcantara Valley and Etna area, involved in tourism planning & promotion and rural & urban development, environment protection, tourist information professionals.
• Regional Touristic Districts, GAL (Gruppi di Azione Locale), Chambers of Commerce, Universities (Catania and Messina), National and Regional Parks.
