The 3-day event will bring together policy makers (ministry officials), local authorities, the private sector, NGOs, researchers and other stakeholders to discuss the different methods adopted by Mediterranean countries, municipalities and local initiatives to cope with the rising challenge of urban waste management. The host region, Sardinia, has a lot to show for itself in terms of progress of its waste performance in the last years.

The gathering will celebrate the closing of the “Mediterranean Dialogue for Waste Management Governance"(Med4Waste)project and constitutes one of the many regional capacity building activities of the "Water and Environment Support in the ENI Neighborhood South Region" (WES)project.

By combining working sessions and study visits, including the presentation of the Med4Waste key outputs and innovative practices, the event aims to strengthen the regional dialogue and cooperation on sustainable waste management.
