Mediterranean Adventures showcased at the Mediterranean Innovation Hub

This event took place on the 17th of November 2022 in Barcelona in the framework of the Mediterranean Week of Economic Leaders (MedaWeek), an annual gathering organised by the Association of the Mediterranean Chambers of Commerce (ASCAME) that in its 16th edition launched the Mediterranean Innovation Hub with the collaboration of INTECMED project.

The Mediterranean Innovation Hub hosted +250 attendees (most of them in person), 22 start-ups from seven countries, six ENI CBC MED projects, investors from the Mediterranean Network of Business Angels as well as international donors, among others.

The day started with a session entitled “Funding opportunities for BSOs and entrepreneurs” a panel in which Vincent Ernoux and Emanuele Cabras, talked about the next ENI CBC MED programming period, Mohamed Wageih spoke about PRIMA programme and Tarek El-Kady, founder of the Mediterranean Business Angels, provided insights about what investors look for when investing in early-stage start-ups. “Funding opportunities for BSOs and entrepreneurs” session

We continued with the Pitch Event #MadeIntheMediterranean in which 22 start-ups from Spain, Jordan, Lebanon, Tunisia, Italy, and Greece had three minutes to pitch their solutions to the attendees. Most of these start-ups have been backed up by ENI CBC MED programme and in particular the incubator programme of INTECMED project. The sectors chosen were agri-food, circular economy/sustainability, and technology.  It was a very fruitful event in which some of the start-ups found synergies among themselves, and investors asked great questions. Pitch Event #MadeIntheMediterranean

The afternoon was devoted to showcasing the best-of-the-best platforms developed with EU- funding and that provide true added value to our Mediterranean Region. The developers explain the opportunities they provide to the private sector.  Watch it here

During this last session, MEDUSA project, presented its new brand and platform the “Mediterranean Adventures”, a one-stop-shop to discover adventure tourism products and services in Catalonia (Spain), Lebanon, Tunisia, Jordan and Puglia (Italy).
