MEDSt@rts: mid-term conference in Lebanon to showcase first results in the promotion of microcredit for startups
In the frame of MEDSt@rts Project, funded by the ENI CBC MED Programme, the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture in Sidon and South Lebanon announces the mid–term conference, that will be held on Thursday November 4th 2021 at 10 am (Beirut time).
The event will update stakeholders on MEDSt@rts activities, aimed at promoting inclusive business creation paths in five countries. Conference sessions will include speeches and interventions about the project and similar EU initiatives, presentations by partner countries on microfinance sector and perspectives, and will end with presentation of entrepreneurs and start-up projects supported by MEDSt@rts.

MEDSt@rts ("Med microfinance support system for start-ups") aims to help unemployed (especially young people between 24 and 35 years old and women) and businesses in the shadow economy. Fondazione di Sardegna is the Lead Beneficiary of the project, whose duration is 30 months. The other partners are: SFIRS (Italy), Arab Italian Cooperation Chamber (Italy), Chamber of Achaia (Greece), Sfax Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Tunisia), LEADERS (Palestine) and Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture in Sidon and South Lebanon (Lebanon). The project budget is €2.8 million, out of which €2.5 million as EU contribution through the EBI CBC Med Programme.
