[MEDUSA Open Tender] Training of Trainers for Sustainable Tourism Destination Management

MEDUSA project is looking for a consultant/trainer to carry out a Training of Trainers on sustainable destination management

Description of the assignment: 
The Consultant/Trainer is expected to provide a detailed content with up to date information (inspired from different international experiences in tourism destination management) related to sustainable tourism destination management, and in specific, the topics listed below. The content should be well structured, clearly presented with visually appealing design and formatting. In terms of practical aspects, the training should include practical and interactive exercises and case studies. The approach followed is based on an interactive facilitation and communication between the trainer and the trainees. 

In practice, the online TOT will be delivered using the MEDUSA project platform (Zoom, Skype, TEAMS, or any other adequate tools), or the provider’s platform if deemed more appropriate. The e-training materials include recorded lesson videos, presentations (e.g. PowerPoint and Prezi), readings and self-assessment questions to ensure the achievement of the training objectives. These materials should be developed into interactive education media using high-level web-based programming/authoring tool. The trainer should provide a strong training evaluation survey and exams in order.  

The main topics of the training (non-exhaustive list) are: 

  • Good practices and inspiring experiences adopted by the administration and the private sector to adapt to current and future Tourism Trends
  • Natural protected areas as areas of excellence for sustainable adventure and nature tourism
  • Cooperation, a key factor in local tourism development strategies
  • Optimizing Tourism Spent in the local economy
  • Involving Communities in Tourism Development
  • Sustainable Tourism Indicators (ETIS) and the SDGs 

Expected Results: 
RESULT N°1: Detailed proposal of the online TOT programme including methodology, pedagogic materials, practical cases and exercises, and technical content of the programme, including an exhaustive list of references, videos, and support materials for the online TOT (the required training materials will be detailed in below). 

RESULT Nº2: Deliver and facilitate an online TOT programme with visually appealing design and formatting following the communication and visibility indications of MEDUSA.
