Between Amman and Petra, the vivacious peregrination must be met with a stop at Tafilah Village, especially for adventurous travelers interested in ancient castles that goes back to biblical times married to Dana reserve, the largest natural reserve in the country. Very few even notice Tafilah on a map, never mind see what the town has to offer. The Tafilah Castle was built in the Edomite period, reused in the Roman period, and was used as a military fortress in the Ottoman period.

Dana Nature Reserve offers a wide range of hiking trail amid this Jordanian authentic site.

Fearless hikersmight consider reaching Petra by foot if pursuing the 14,8 km Dana’s trail! Just get your backpack equipped, your tent ready and Bob’s your uncle from March until November.

Another moderate level experience is throughout a Bedouin-like adventure at the Rummana Campsite equipped with 20 large tents and settled under the open wild sky of the reserve.
