GIMED: supporting the creation and development of entrepreneurship in the green and circular economy

Objective

Grants, entitled ‘green vouchers’ in the GIMED project, will be used to cover specific technical assistance needs related to business creation and business development processes. Those needs will be pre-identified during the training and coaching sessions. The needs assessment and costs will be validated by the local partners before the disbursement of the 'green voucher'. The expected impact is to consolidate and build stronger business solutions that will create sustainable jobs in the region.

40 grants of €7.500 each

€60.000 per country (Italy, Egypt, Palestine, Lebanon, Tunisia)

Actions to be carried out with the sub-grants

The technical needs that the green vouchers will cover can be considered among the following examples :
 - Supporting purchasing / renting / leasing of assets 
 - Technical advice about licensing, finance or legal requirements 
 - IP registration 
 - Designing IT strategies and tools 
 - Software, hardware and other intellectual assets 
 - Prototype and market testing
 - B2B exposure materials

Selection criteria and award procedure

Grants will be awarded through a two-phase competitive selection process:

Option 1
Phase 1: A call for applicants who have previously participated in the project's training and capacity building will be launched. Phase 2: A cross-border jury of experts will shortlist the best proposals. 

Option 2
Organisation of a matchmaking and pitching event with investors where the 10 selected ventures will be pitching in front of jury members to select the 4 winners and will be matched with investors as well.
