Plastic Busters CAP creates strong synergies in Tunisia to promote sustainable tourism

L'Institut National des Sciences et Technologies de la Mer, Tunisian partner of Plastic Busters CAP organised on 21 March 2023 a synergy day with the Co-Evolve4BG and Megara Challenges of Sustainable Cities projects in the city of Ghar El Meleh - Bizerte, focused on the themes of sustainable tourism and sustainable cities.

This event was an opportunity to meet and discuss with the different stakeholders of the city of Ghar El Meleh about marine litter, its impacts on the environment and the mitigation measures proposed by Plastic Busters CAP project.

It was also an opportunity to promote the activities of Plastic Busters CAP in Ghar el Meleh pilot area and to see the possibility of the application of the Co-Evolve4BG Project Toolkit in the city for sustainable tourism, to discuss a solution proposed by the MEGARA Network and to present the solutions of ECOVAL project, related to the conservation and enhancement of ecosystems using nature based solutions.


The meeting was attended by local stakeholder of Ghar El Meleh such as: the Municipality, the Regional Commissioner for Agricultural Development, the Ports and Fishing Equipment Agency, the Regional Commissioner for Tourism of Bizerte, tourist operators, representatives of primary and secondary schools, local associations, experts from the Institut National des Sciences et Technologies de la Mer.
