Plastic Busters CAP is looking for a communication manager in Lebanon

The Tyre Coast Nature Reserve (TCNR)-Lebanon, Lebanese partner of Plastic Busters CAP project, launches a call to select a communication officer. 

The application can be submitted by e-mail to tcnr98@hotmail.com and to the Project Manager ali.badreddine@hotmail.com, specifying in the email subject "Plastic Busters CAP – Communication".

The application shall include the following documents:

  • An updated CV of the applicant
  • A motivation letter presenting the interest and qualifications for the project (especially mentioning the work experience with European Project, and knowledge of TCNR).

The deadline is August 25th 2022. Only short-listed applicants will be contacted for further file compilation.

The main responsibilities of the Communication Officer within Plastic Busters Cap will be the following:

  • Provide support for the communication plan and strategy of the project
  • Guarantee the visibility of the project on social media platforms
  • Facilitate and help in the preparation of the necessary communication kit, especially national workshop
  • Follow up and monitor the implementation of the communication activities
  • Communicate scientific data and information through project channels
  • Meet all the deadlines set
  • Responsible for the outputs of the Work Package related to the “Communication” part of the project
  • Help, and support TCNR activities, especially communication
  • Coordinate the project communication with TCNR stakeholders
  • Responsible person for TCNR project partners concerning the communication activities
  • Assist the project manager in TCNR contribution concerning the communication issues
  • Prepare the communication kits (posters, brochures, videos) related to the projects
  • Support public events, such as awareness and education activities, press conferences, the organization of Local Working Groups, training, campaigns, and workshops.

Qualification and Skills 

  • Bachelor Degree in relevant topic
  • Master degree is an advantage
  • Communication skills
  • Coordination skills
  • Graphic Design
  • Organizational skills (public events, workshops, forums)
  • Social media application
  • Fluent in English and Arabic, both spoken and written
  • Knowledge of French is an asset
  • Familiar with European projects (mandatory)
  • Knowledge of Tyre Coast Nature Reserve (mandatory)

 

About the project

Plastic Busters CAP will help to enhance and transfer knowledge, experience, and best practice tools that address the entire management cycle of marine litter from monitoring and assessment to prevention and mitigation, towards an integrated and strategic approach that couples Ecosystem-based management and ICZM into local development planning.

The project is led by the University of Siena, Italy, and executed in partnership with Tyre Coast Nature Reserve (TCNR)-Lebanon, Mediterranean Information Office for Environment, Culture and Sustainable Development Greece, Legambiente Onlus Italy, Higher Council for Scientific Research – Institute of Marine Sciences-Spain, El Ramis Society for Local Community Development of Barrany-Egypt, National Institute of Marine Sciences and Technologies – Department of Marine environment-Tunisia, The University of Jordan – Aqaba Branch, Faculty of Basic and Marine Sciences, Department of Marine Biology-Jordan.
