Between 28^th February and 13^th March 2023, 12 young Mediterranean NEETS participate in the International training Workshop organized by RESMYLE project Partner Association for the Development of Rural capacities (ADR) to produce a Board Game on Waste Management in order to increase the awareness toward these subjects.

The 12 participants in the Workshop all belong to the NEETS category (young people aged between 18 and 30 who are neither in employment, nor in education, nor in training). Eight young people are Lebanese from different regions of Lebanon and 3 young people are Jordanian and one participants from Tunisia. They are supported by experts in Waste Management.

The first phase of the Workshop was devoted to the introduction to Waste Management in order to understand the Waste crisis in Lebanon (the present situation, causes, possible solutions…), Waste Management strategies and practices (waste sampling and categorization, Sorting, composting, increasing awareness etc...). In addition, participants were trained on Create a Board Game; Types of Board Game, Modern Board Games, Games Mechanics, Role of Board game in environmental awareness in order to be prepared for next phase of the workshop.

During the Field Work, the 12 participants visited the Municipality of Qana to know more about the Waste Management practices applied in the village and start the conception of their Board Game (Problematic, Concept, target, Skills targeted, design, etc...)

“QATANA” is the Board Game Produced by the 12 NEETS at the end of the International Training Workshop that will help the Municipality, Schools, social workers, the Environmental Protected Areas to increase the awareness of the youth citizens, students and visitors of protected areas toward the waste management subjects.

This workshop is one of the activities of the project "RESMYLE - Rethinking employment and social inclusion of Mediterranean youth through sustainable development" implemented in Lebanon by ADR and funded by the ENI CBC MED program of the European Union. RESMYLE is a 3-year project, which brings together 9 partners from five Mediterranean countries: France, Italy, Lebanon, Jordan and Tunisia.

Du 28 février au 13 mars 2023, 12 jeunes NEETS méditerranéens ont participé à l'atelier de formation pratique sur terrain organisé par l'Association pour le développement des capacités rurales (ADR), partenaire du projet RESMYLE, pour produire un jeu de société sur la gestion des déchets afin d'accroître la sensibilisation à ce sujet.

Les 12 participants à l'atelier appartiennent tous à la catégorie des NEETS (jeunes âgés de 18 à 30 ans qui ne sont ni dans l'emploi, ni dans l'éducation, ni dans la formation). Huit jeunes étaient libanais et venaient de différentes régions du Liban, trois jeunes étaient jordaniens et un participant était tunisien. Ils ont été assistés par des experts en gestion des déchets.

La première phase de l'atelier a été consacrée à l'introduction à la gestion des déchets afin de comprendre la crise des déchets au Liban (la situation actuelle, les causes, les solutions possibles...), les stratégies et les pratiques de gestion des déchets (échantillonnage et catégorisation des déchets, tri, compostage, sensibilisation, etc.). En outre, les participants ont été formés à la création d'un jeu de société, aux types de jeux de société, aux jeux de société modernes, à la mécanique des jeux et au rôle des jeux de société dans la sensibilisation à l'environnement afin d'être préparés à la prochaine phase de l'atelier.

Pendant le travail sur le terrain, les 12 participants ont visité la municipalité de Qana pour en savoir plus sur les pratiques de gestion des déchets appliquées dans le village et commencer à concevoir leur jeu de société (problématique, concept, cible, compétences visées, conception, etc.)

"QATANA" est le jeu de société produit par les 12 NEETS à la fin de l'atelier de formation pratique sur terrain qui aidera la municipalité, les écoles, les travailleurs sociaux, les zones environnementales protégées à sensibiliser les jeunes citoyens, les étudiants et les visiteurs des zones protégées au sujet de la gestion des déchets.

Cet atelier est l'une des activités du projet "RESMYLE - Repenser l'emploi et l'inclusion sociale des jeunes méditerranéens à travers le développement durable" mis en œuvre au Liban par l'ADR et financé par le programme ENI CBC MED de l'Union européenne. RESMYLE est un projet de 3 ans, qui rassemble 8 partenaires de cinq pays méditerranéens : France, Italie, Liban, Jordanie et Tunisie.
