Mu’nis has a degree in civil engineering and was trained in Irbid, Jordan. His story with RESMYLE begins in June 2022 when he decided to apply for a call for volunteers, promoted by the project, to contribute to the creation of a new Eco-incubator, called “ECONITIA”.

ADR for ECONITIA: a very good match!

EcoNitia is an eco-incubator, created early this year in Tyre (Lebanon), thanks to the support of RESMYLE and to the effort of ADR (Association for the Development of Rural Capacities), one of the project’s partners. As the name itself suggests, its mission is to “incubate” noteworthy entrepreneurial projects from local young persons, aiming to create their own business in the field of environment and sustainable development. Thus, the incubator is currently supporting the creation of green-business through organizational and technical assistance, which will eventually contribute to the reduction of entrepreneurial failure. 

What better way to empower young people who are Not in Education, Employment or Training (NEETs) than by directly involving them in the incubator’s everyday activities, not only as beneficiaries but also as “tutors”, offering to everybody a new growth opportunity while creating networking and exchange opportunities for everybody?

Mu’nis et ECONITIA: a work and a life experience all at once

Almost one year ago, Mu’nis decided to apply for this eco volunteer position to have the chance to travel and enrich his experiences and background, not only in terms of work. Indeed, as a civil engineer, he wanted to improve some of his complementary skills, while also having the chance to travel and discover something new.  Moreover, he wanted to know more about and do something concretely in the field of sustainable development, getting to know more about green professions and maybe have the opportunity to make his profession greener in the future. 

His main role within the eco-mission was to give support to the ADR team in Lebanon in the first phases of the implementation of ECONITIA. He supported the team in communicating with NEETS, reaching out to them and receiving them in the organization’s facilities. He directly met and worked with NEETs, for example supporting them in filling applications, developing business plans and finally contributed to the organization and promotion of training.

“The time spent in Tyre with ECONITIA was really valuable for me” commented Mu’nis at the end of his mission “it has improved my curriculum and allowed me to acquire new skills and knowledge. It has been a chance for me to travel, to get to know new people and to make real learning by doing experience. I encourage all the young NEETs who can have this opportunity to take it and to participate in similar activities!”.

RESMYLE au Liban : l’histoire de Mu’nis et sa mission d’écovolontariat pour « ECONITIA »

Mu'nis a un diplôme d'ingénieur en génie civil, il s'est formé à Irbid, en Jordanie. Son histoire avec RESMYLE débute en juin 2022 lorsqu'il décide de postuler à un appel à volontaires, porté par le projet, pour contribuer à la création d'un nouvel éco-incubateur « ECONITIA ».

Comme son nom l'indique, sa mission est « d'incuber » des projets entrepreneuriaux remarquables de jeunes de la région, visant à créer leur propre entreprise dans le domaine de l'environnement et du développement durable. Ainsi, l'incubateur soutient actuellement la création d'entreprises vertes à travers une assistance organisationnelle et technique, qui contribuera à la réduction de l'échec entrepreneurial.

Quelle meilleure façon d'autonomiser les jeunes NEETs qu'en les impliquant directement dans les activités quotidiennes de l'incubateur, non seulement en tant que bénéficiaires mais aussi en tant que "tuteurs", offrant à chacun une nouvelle opportunité de croissance tout en créant des opportunités de réseautage et d'échange pour tous ?

Mu’nis et ECONITIA : un travail et une expérience de vie à la fois

Il y a près d'un an, Mu'nis a décidé de postuler à ce poste pour avoir la chance de voyager, d'enrichir ses expériences et son parcours, pas seulement en termes de travail. En effet, en tant qu'ingénieur en génie civil, il voulait améliorer certaines de ses compétences, tout en ayant la chance de voyager et de découvrir quelque chose de nouveau. De plus, il voulait en savoir plus et faire quelque chose de concret dans le domaine du développement durable, en savoir plus sur les métiers verts et peut-être avoir l'opportunité de rendre son métier plus vert à l'avenir.

Sa mission principale était d'apporter un soutien à l'équipe ADR au Liban dans les premières phases de la mise en œuvre d'ECONITIA. Il a aidé l'équipe à communiquer avec les NEETs, à les contacter et à les recevoir dans les bureaux de l'organisation. Il a rencontré et travaillé directement avec des NEETs, par exemple en les aidant à remplir des dossiers de candidature, à élaborer des business plan et, enfin, à contribuer à l'organisation et à la promotion de la formation.

"Le temps passé à Tyr avec ECONITIA a été très précieux pour moi" a commenté Mu’nis  à la fin de sa mission "cela a amélioré mon curriculum et m'a permis d'acquérir de nouvelles compétences et connaissances. Cela a été pour moi l'occasion de voyager, de rencontrer de nouvelles personnes et d'effectuer un véritable apprentissage par l'expérience. J'encourage tous les jeunes NEET qui ont cette opportunité à la saisir et à participer à des activités similaires ! ».
