Amal is 25 years old, from Monastir, Tunisia and is passionate about interior design but with a new twist!

Like many young people her age, after studying hard, Amal was struggling to find a job to put her knowledge into practice, so she joined a dedicated team of fellow NEETs to take part in a RESMYLE international workshop in Tunisia, September 2021. Run by RESMYLE partner, the Association d'Education Relative à l'Environnement, Amal helped produce a guide to discover the wealth of small-scale heritage in the city of Hammamet.

Buoyed by this practical field training experience, she kept in contact with AERE and RESMYLE and has now joined the DEMARRI eco-incubator as part of the first intake of NEETs.

Receiving expert support and guidance from our eco-incubator experts, Amal is on the way to turning her passion into a job by starting her own business recycling waste fabric into ecological bricks to make items of furniture, home decorations as well as thermal and soundproofing insulation for homes.

We're delighted that Amal has found the inspiration and opportunity through RESMYLE to make her plans a reality. What's more, Amal is not alone. Two other young enterprising Tunisian women, Asma and Olfa, have also capitalised on the same workshop experience in Hammamet to become eco-entrepreneurs at the DEMARRI eco-incubator, so the story continues. We will bring you news of their experiences soon!
