RESTART MED! project organises 3rd Sustainable Tourism Summit in Lebanon

The tourism industry has grown immensely, offering economic benefits and cultural exchanges. However, it also poses significant challenges to the environment, local communities, and cultural heritage. To address these issues, sustainable tourism has emerged, focusing on preserving destinations, cultural heritage, and ensuring long-term economic viability for all stakeholders. Achieving sustainability goals in the Mediterranean, requires collaboration and knowledge sharing among stakeholders in our countries, to learn from experiences, build partnerships, and collectively solve problems.

To move in this direction, RESTART MED! is organizing its 3rd Sustainable Tourism Summit, with a focus on socio-economic sustainability in the tourism industry.

The Summit aims to foster dialogue, collaboration, and knowledge exchange among professionals and stakeholders on socio-economic sustainability in the tourism industry. With a focus on sustainable practices and responsible tourism, this conference will bring together participants from various Mediterranean countries, including industry leaders, policymakers, researchers, academics, and practitioners. Therefore, the event will facilitate the sharing of lessons learned in sustainable tourism, in addition to foster collaboration among stakeholders, learn from different experiences, and drive positive change in the field of sustainable tourism.

The summit will be organized by the American University of Beirut in collaboration with the RESTART MED! partnership.
