One of the cross-cutting objectives of REUSEMED project is to generate green jobs. To achieve this, the project fosters the training of unemployed people to provide them with knowledge and skills in mending and adapting garments and textile objects. The aim is to boost abilities that will enable them to work repairing and reusing second-hand material. 

After the course, a dozen of students will be able to repair and adapt garments and textile articles, as well as repair garments and household linen in a safe environment. Students will also be able to carry out corrective maintenance operations on textile garments, whether clothing, trousseau or household linen.

Furthermore, the students will be given a tool to be able to access some of the reuse circuits that the municipal company, SADECO, is promoting through REUSEMED. That is, either through hiring by a company or independently through entrepreneurship.

REUSEMED proposes to create municipal networks based on reuse circuits for home appliances, furniture, books, clothes, Waste Electrical & Electronic Equipment and food. To set up the networks, 4 cities in Spain, Italy, Jordan and Tunisia will design and test composting installations, food collection points in markets, repair and reuse centers, reuse corners in shops and repairing cafes.
