SME4SMARTCITIES aims to support Mediterranean SMEs to make cities smarter

The European Business Innovation Centre of Murcia (CEEIM) hosted in between 30-31 October 2019 the SME4SMARTCITIES Kick Off meeting. SME4SMARTCITIES aims to engage Mediterranean SMEs to work together and make cities smarter. This will be done through a series of dedicated trainings to support SMEs in entering the smart cities market, through co-creation activities that will foster cooperation between Mediterranean SMEs and it will end with ready to deploy smart cities solutions that will be a response to cities' urban challenges.

The meeting started with the welcome of the Lead Beneficiary followed by individual presentation of the participants in the meeting. Each partner presented its core activities in the fields of entrepreneurship, innovation, smart cities and previous experience in EU projects followed by a presentation of the roles of the staff involved in the project. 

Partners also emphasized their support in internationalization and training of SMEs that will be useful within the project framework and shared expectations on the solutions for public procurement the project aims at developing and about the methodologies for making of the smart cities market more friendly for the SMEs.

At the meeting was also present the representative of the programme from the Branch Office for the Western Mediterranean which made a brief presentation of the programme rules and functioning system.
