STAND Up! will participate in the ‘360º Opportunities’, an event to be held in Barcelona gathering textile and fashion entrepreneurs, companies, investors and policy-makers. The aim of the event is offering useful tools for their commercial strategies in the textile sector, as well as making connections and synergies between the ideation and early-stage start-ups and the existing and consolidated ventures.

Organised by TEXFOR, the Textile Industry Confederation and Spanish partner of STAND Up!, the event will take place on the 30th of September 2022 at Casa de la Seda (9.00am-15.00pm). In the last decades the textile industry has experienced important transformations, both for positive and negative, as a consequence of the existing economic development model that lies behind. On the one hand, there has been a breakthrough in fields such as innovation, sustainability and new and more competitive technologies.

However, there is still a large natural resources consumption trend, use of toxic chemicals, waste generation or overconsumption patterns in society. In the ‘360º Opportunities’ different EU-funded projects in which TEXFOR has a role will be presented, all them focused in innovation, business support and access to markets in an international scale.

Together with STAND Up!, an EU-funded project under the ENI CBC Med Program that supports women and youth under 35 to develop their business model in the textile and clothing industry, DigiTVC and TEX-MED Alliances will also be presented. The first one promotes the digitalisation of the value chain in the textile sector, whereas the second works for the trans-Mediterranean development of the textile business with sustainability criteria.

About the ‘360’ Opportunities’ Event

It will be divided in two different parts. In the first one different start-ups that have joined and being supported by STAND Up! will be presented. The start-ups participating are Bäloop, Minimalist Training, Slow Basic, IAIOS, Deleitewear, Be Karme, Júlia G. Escribà and Andromeda Moto.

In the second part, different tools will be shared, as a result of the 3 EU-funded projects. These tools bring new opportunities for the modernisation of the textile industry: sustainability, entrepreneurship and digitalization and other collaborative synergies of interest for the textile industry.

The WeMed Award 2022 will also be presented, a new opportunity for textile and fashion entrepreneurs in the Mediterranean area to win awards valued up to 20.000€/10.000€ each. Finally, there will also be an introductory speech presenting the STAND Up! project by David Allo, Head of Sustainability and Luz Villalta, Head of Internationalization at TEXFOR.
