U-SOLVE in Jordan promotes its call for subgrants focused on urban sustainable development solutions

As the deadline for subgrants application approaches (deadline of 1st step: 31st October 2022), U-SOLVE partners work extensively to invite innovative entrepreneurs to take advantage of this valuable opportunity

on Monday, 19th September 2022 U-SOLVE partner in Jordan: the Jordan University for Science and Technology (JUST), represented by Prof. Fahmi Abu Al-Rub, U-SOLVE Project Manager in Jordan, held an introductory informative workshop at Al-Balqa Applied University at the Jordan-Korean Center for Information and Communication Technology to talk about U-SOLVE call for subgrants. 

Attended by 25 people, the workshop introduced the project and its objectives, and what is the vision of this project, and talked about the opportunities available for entrepreneurs, start upper and individuals, or a team wishing to start a business who have innovative ideas or projects that can meet the challenges of sustainable urban development in the six participating countries of the project: Italy, Cyprus, Egypt, Greece, Jordan, Palestine.

Moreover, he talked about the most important target topics of U-SOLVE project that can be eligible to apply to the call for application, especially in the field of sustainable development. He explained the conditions that must be met by the applicant and how to apply for project sub-grants, the time of the call, and the mechanism for applying, and he explained that each applicant may submit more than one application under this call then the applicant can register in the platform of the project.

It is worth mentioning that this would provide an opportunity for the largest number of applicants, owners of small entrepreneurial projects, and creative ideas to compete truly, and achieve the principle of equal opportunities among applicants. He also talked about the criteria for selection between applicants and the financial payment mechanism for the winning projects.

At the end of the workshop, questions were raised, and Dr. Fahmi Abu Al-Rub answered all of them. 


In Jordan the project is looking for entrepreneurial ideas in water resources and management, sustainable energy, waste management, urban food systems, sustainable tourism.
