YEP MED in Jordan graduated the second batch of students who attended vocational training on port logistics

Aqaba Development Corporation and the Escola Europea – Intermodal Transport held a graduation ceremony for the second batch of YEP MED Vocational Training Programme graduates.

The event, held under the patronage of HE Hussein Al-Safadi on the 31st of August 2022, was organised for the second batch of students of the YEP MED training course. Diploma certificates for the International Trade and Operations training course were awarded to the nine successful trainees in a ceremony conducted by the Aqaba Development Corporation (ADC), YEP MED Jordanian partner, with a virtual participation of the Spanish Project Lead – the Escola Europea – Intermodal Transport.

Mr. Al-Safadi, the CEO of ADC, appreciated the partnership with the Escola Europea in implementing the YEP MED vocational training Programme in Aqaba, highlighting the positive impact towards capacity building of youth as well as women in the local port & logistics community. He also thanked graduating students and the YEP MED team members as well as the Escola’s team members, for their efforts in virtually executing this exceptional training course.

Mr. Rodés, the Executive Director of the Escola Europea - Intermodal Transport, also extended thanks to all attendees including the YEP MED team members and congratulated all graduates who completed the course. He also emphasized the importance of the vocational training course, which was held in several stages under exceptional circumstances due to the coronavirus pandemic, which caused the training classes to be implemented remotely mainly through Google Meet and ZOOM platforms. 

Eng. Al-Sakran, the Executive Manager for Ports Airport & Logistics, and the YEP MED project manager in Jordan, stressed the significance of vocational training, stating that governments and companies need to invest more in this kind of trainings as part of their capacity building strategies. Additionally, he wished all trainees best of luck in their internships during the coming three months where he encouraged them to grab this opportunity to learn new skills and expand their network.

ADC, in cooperation with the Escola, will continue to execute more vocational training courses as well as occupational training courses during the coming year.
