(AdSP). Some partners were unable to attend in peson, and connected to the event online.

The President of the Lazio Port Authority (AdSP) Pino Musolino welcomed the attendees to mark the start of the meeting and complimented the valuable work done so far.

With YEP MED, we will not only achieve all the objectives set by the project at the outset but, in some way, through it, we will build the legs of future projects always linked to training and raising the quality of the workforce of our ports.

Following the opening ceremony, two intense workshop days were held with the partners from the seven participating Mediterranean countries. In addition to Italy, France, Spain, Jordan, Tunisia, Egypt and Lebanon were represented. Over the course of what was the penultimate Steering Committee meeting of a project that began about two and a half years ago, the representatives of the various countries showcased the results achieved to date with regard to the courses held, student participation and subsequent student employment. To date, the project has witnessed the successful completion of 54 courses across the 8 port communities, in which more than 2000 students were trained, and of which more than 200 have completed internships or found jobs in the sector.

Through the presentations it was confirmed that YEP MED is progressing in accordance with the set objectives and has already become a key element of cooperation in the field of training and collaboration between the logistic-port communities of the Mediterranean area.

During the two days, the future steps and the methodologies for continuing the work following the project’s completion were agreed.

The Steering Committee has established the start of the last courses of vocational training and occupational training starting at the end of January 2023. It was decided that the last Steering Committee will meet in Aqaba, Jordan, on May 1 and 2. The final event of the project was confirmed to be held in Damietta in June 2023.
