In this video, representatives of some of the participating countries and of the European Commission share their views and expectations on Interreg NEXT MED, the new €253 million EU-funded Programme to boost transnational cooperation across borders in the Mediterranean area.

The Programme aims to finance joint projects that address common challenges in making the Mediterranean a smarter, greener, more inclusive and better governed region.

The video was produced on the occasion of the first meeting of the Monitoring Committee of Interreg NEXT MED (MC) which took place in Cagliari (Italy) on March, 14-15th 2023. The MC is the decision-making body of the Programme. It is composed by the national and regional representatives of the 15 countries involved in the Programme and the European Commission (with observer status). It is chaired by the Managing Authority.
