On September 24, CROSSDEV’s Palestinian partner Masar Ibrahim Al Khalil (MIAK) conducted a ceremony to sign sub-grant agreements with 9 service providers. All of them have businesses located along the new 50 km segment of the walking trail that is being developed through the CROSSDEV project.

The sub-grants awarded businesses include 2 homestays, 3 women centers (production and selling of local products), and 4 SMEs who will establish brand new business. These businesses will be ready to provide their services to visitors at the beginning of 2021.

The award ceremony was also the occasion for MIAK to encourage the service providers to learn about each other and start networking and thinking of possible cooperations. As a result, Surif women center might start selling their "Maftool" - a local dish - in another women center booth in Battir.

Moreover, they had the chance to share dreams. Sikka women center are willing to develop their garden as a resting place for visitors. Enas – who owns a jewellery booth in Battir – hopes to start new booths along the new segments of the trail. Ishaq Alhroub from Deir Samit wishes for more people to learn about the cultural heritage of Palestine by visiting her museum.
