The Beirut Chamber, a partner of the YEP MED project, conducted a skills gap survey focusing on the Lebanese port and logistics sector to identify the most needed profiles, in order to help it design new and relevant training courses targeting unemployed Lebanese young men and women, and thus to further their access to the local logistics job market. The Chamber shared the survey results with the Lebanese working group members – which highlighted a significant market demand for agents in international trade and logistics operations. The working group counts with the representation of the port of Beirut, the Beirut Container Terminal, the International Chamber of Navigation, the syndicate of freight forwarders, the American University of Technology, as well as a number of logistics companies and technical and vocational experts.

Rabih Sabra, the Director General of the Chamber, emphasized the positive impact of the YEP MED project on the enhancement of social inclusion and employability of the Lebanese youth

We capitalize on the engagement of our working group members to ensure sustainability of this pioneering training in the Lebanese logistics market beyond the lifetime of the YEP MED project

The first vocational and occupational classes will take place between 12 and 16 April 2021; registration of Lebanese students is still open and can be accessed via this link. https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/yepmedneets
