MED4EBM: Training Event in Jordan on “The Use of Innovative Tools To Tackle The Incorporation Of Ecosystem Based Management (EBM) Into Integrated Coastal Zone Management (ICZM) Processes
On September 9th 2020 the technical beneficiary Planning and Development Consulting (PROGES) of the project conducted an Online Training Session with MED4EBM partner The Royal Marine Conservation Society of Jordan (JREDS) in Jordan.
The objective of the training was to introduce the innovative tool to tackle berries using an innovative land and sea management package, which makes EBM-ICZM much easier for the professional team, the stakeholders, and the decision makers involved.
The training presents a software application of methodological tools, to plan, implement and monitor EBM through a participatory and evidence-based approach. This will help the planning team and relent stakeholders to identify and quantitatively assesses the relationships between ecosystem components, functions and services, along with the associated human activities, toward the establishment of a multi-stakeholders ICZM scheme.
The software will establish one Ecosystem-based ICZM Decision Support Systems (EBICZM-DSS) along with applicable methodological protocol which consists of five easy-to-apply progressive steps to handle the complex multi-stakeholders’ analytical processes that characterize EB-ICZM applications.
The Lead Trainer is Prof. Marco Francesco Falcetta, the EBM Methodological Coordinator of the MED4EBM Project, four trainees participated in the training that was held virtually.
