Each of the four Mediterranean countries participating in the PPI4MED project, including Italy, Jordan, Spain and Tunisia, have their national Living Labs up and running.

The Living Lab is a platform for public procurers, private companies and national research centres (patent owners) to meet and share interests in order to generate technological solutions for ideas that can be materialised in potential Public Procurement of Innovation (PPI) projects.

They involve the National Research Council (CNR) in Italy; the National Centre for Research and Development (NCRD) in Jordan; the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) in Spain and the National Agency for Scientific Research Promotion (ANPR) in Tunisia.

This initiative works in sectors such as health, environment, water management, ICT enabling technologies and energy efficiency, as well as in other priority areas for today´s public administrations in which it promotes research to contribute to the generation of new scientific knowledge, the protection of the environment and the preservation of natural resources, among other issues.
