MAIA-TAQA in Egypt demonstrating the opportunities for SMEs in the Renewable Energy to become more sustainable

The International Supply Chain Education Alliance (ISCEA) in USA organizes an annual virtual event to connect ISCEA Sustainable Supply Chain Global Ambassadors from around the world.

The event is open to all who are interested in pledging to sustainable supply chain, meeting peers with similar interests, or learning about how to further commit to sustainability. This event serves as an event to connect passionate planet guardians who aim to transform the world of supply chain for a better, stronger, more sustainable future.

The 2nd Global Sustainable Supply Chain Pledge Day was held virtually on Sunday the 24th of April 2022 for 24 hours starting at 12 am EDT. The event included 12 sessions, 2 hours each in different locations starting with the US and moving to Nigeria, Egypt, France, India, Brazil and Mexico. The sessions were be hosted by supply chain professionals from around the globe.

AAST, partner no. 5 in MAIA-TAQA participated in the event and Professor Sara Elzarka gave a presentation entitled (MAIA-TAQA Project: Opportunities for SMEs in Renewable Energy).

The presentation included a comprehensive view on the project’s aim and objectives and a special focus was given on the IOSS and the training opportunities available for SMEs.

Event outcomes:

- Gather, mobilize and connect with all participants interested in field of sustainability globally.
- Announcing EU-funded projects and programs that focus on youth empowerment.
- Creating exposure among participants especially SMEs about MAIA-TAQA project and the renewable energy by defining a new group of sustainable services related to energy, water and waste.

- Demonstrate the EU’s commitment to help build better futures for youth.
