The Nof Edom School in Eilot region is one of the pilot buildings that BERLIN is using for installing the new smart and resilient nano-grids storage technology.

So far, installation of the photovoltaics on the school’s pergolas are finalized. The installation has 126 kWp capacity and the bus station/parking capacity is 302 kWp (see pictures below). The installation of the Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) is in final design according to the consumption data collected. It is expected that the final plans and the order for the BESS will be finished by the end of the month.

In the Eilot region, the “Eilat-Eilot Renewable Energy Initiative” was established with the aim to make the southern Arava region an international centre for research, development, and commercialization of renewable energy technologies, while at the same time it aims to make the region energy-independent and free from fuel and carbon emissions by the year 2025. As part of the national and municipal efforts to transform Eilat and Eilot regions into smart areas, numerous Research & Development projects and pilots are taking place in the areas of renewable energy, smart transport, energy efficiency and sustainable development. BERLIN project contributes towards this path and it will add an extra value in the transformation of green energy in the region’s public buildings.
