Skills4Sports moves forward with its training and certifications in Lebanon

Skills4Sports partnership visited Sagesse Club SC in Beirut at the 6th of October 2022. The main purpose of the visit was to introduce the young footballers and their coaches to the Skills4Sports Project and explain the training’s content. In more detail, we discuss the importance of developing new skills in the sports sector and present the training content and how they will accelerate young people’s careers in the sports sector. The trainings spanning from sports events management to coaching and leadership and sports sociology, focusing on enabling young people to find a job at the sports industry.

The head coach of Sagesse Club SC, Paul Ruston, expresses his enthusiasm about the Skills4Sports project and their willingness to participate. They firmly believe that those training and certifications will enable their club to hire more people. Giving young people all the competencies they need to explore a career in the sports industry is paramount. He highlighted that the certifications will increase employability in the sector because since now, there are no such specialised certifications.

All in all, in November 2022, trainings in Beirut, Saggese Club SC will provide around 20 young footballers to attend the training at Sports Academy Scholls and win their first certifications. The trainings will be about Coaching and Leadership, Sports event management, Sports digital marketing and communications, Dual careers, Sports sociology and Introduction to sports management and sports economy.

Furthermore, our guest from Malta, Ray Farrugia (a famous football coach from Malta and a great enthusiast and supporter of Skills4Sports Project), discussed with the team’s young footballers his career path in the sports sector and their career aspirations in the sports sector.
