Interreg annual event to shed light on ENI CBC Med achievements in digitization, climate action and youth empowerment

The Interreg annual event, to gather EU-funded programmes’ managing authorities, joint secretariats and young people from all over Europe will take place from 26 to 28 October, in Brussels and online. 

Under the title “Interreg: better together”, the event – to be opened by Ms. Elisa Ferreira, Commissioner for Cohesion and Reforms, aims to highlight once more that cooperation is central to the European response to today’s challenges.

The ENI CBC Med Programme, now belonging to the external dimension of the Interreg instrument, will actively take part in the event and have the opportunity to present achievements in the fields of digitization, climate action and youth empowerment, as follows:

  • Daniel Asmar (American University of Beirut) and Sergi Fernandez (i2CAT Foundation) will showcase some of the gamified experiences developed under the MED GAIMS project for the enhancement of tourism and cultural heritage in Lebanon and Spain.   • During the workshop “Interreg in times of crises” on 26th and 27th October, Martin Heibel, communication manager of the ENI CBC Med Managing Authority, will discuss the strategy and actions of the Programme to contribute addressing climate change in the Mediterranean region.
  • During the Youth4Cooperation summit, organised on 28th October as part of the European Year of Youth, Mr. Aldo Puleo, programme officer at the ENI CBC Med Managing Authority, will present how young people have been involved in many Programme activities and how they will be involved in the new Interreg NEXT MED Programme
  • Finally, Laura Fernandez from Spain, co-founder of the sustainable fashion brand Deleitewear, will tell her journey with the STAND Up! project and insist on the support she received to grow her business sustainably.

While the event in on invitation only, it will be possible to follow most of the sessions online here starting on 26th October from 14.30, Brussels time.
