The Municipality of Tunis selected the Medina of Tunis as the INNOMED-UP project pilot area. The Medina of Tunis is the historical urban quarter of Tunis, a UNESCO heritage site since 1979, and it was founded around the 7th century. INNOMED-UP survey team in Tunis is currently investigating the circular economy opportunities in 3 cultural and creative industry areas; architecture, traditional shop-signs designs and shoe-making artisan workshops.
