A.2.1: Support technological transfer and commercialisation of research results, strengthening the linkages between research, industry and other private sector actors
The growth chamber allows to use the water resource and the land resource in an amount equal to 15% compared to the method of growing saffron in the open field. In addition, it is possible to arrange crops vertically on several floors. The harvest of pistils takes place at human level without having to bend over to reach the ground.
Main objectives:
1) save irrigation water;
2) save agricultural land;
3) improve environmental sustainability;
4) ensure the food safety of saffron

issues to be addressed:
1) automation to facilitate crop operations and passive defense from cryptogams, insects and other pests;
2) optimal management of light, humidity and temperature.

the main expected results:
1) employ more workers and they must have technical and scientific knowledge and skills;
2) improve working conditions due to the posture assumed by the worker to carry out the various cultivation operations;
3) increase the value chain and business opportunities in cross-border networks
